To the Hopeless:

A few years I went through a season of hopelessness. I felt there was no direction or meaning to my life. I was miserable and thought it was every ones fault around me. I hated everything! Angry, depressed and dissatisfied....that is until I had a love encounter with the living God!

Years ago I opened the door to a subtle knock. I welcomed in what I thought was harmless. How could this guest be tied into my future heartache and pain? Harmless, satisfying, pleasant...these are the words I used to describe my sin, my new roommate....that is before its death grip grabbed hold of my life and slowly tried to destroy me!

Its constant presence in my life slowly tore me down, it consumed my thoughts, fear drove me to my knees, and the enemy kept my focus on my circumstances while his words whispered death into my ears. There was very little light in my life during that time.

All I did was give into a desire. But now I realize that what I gave into was a trap the enemy had set for me enticed by my own "wants and desires". I came to the end of myself. I was completely unable to set myself free from these chains of bondage. Help! was all I could seem to scream, but no one heard my cry....I needed rescued!

When I came to the end of myself, on the verge of giving up, I was finally able to look up and and cry out for God's help. What happened will change my life forever. My hero arose! Jesus broke down the door that locked me away from Him, He sought me out when I thought I couldn't be found. He spoke to me words that brought a beat of rhythm back to my heart. "The blood he shed on the cross covered my shame and guilt!" His mighty arms broke the chains so tightly wrapped around me.

Suddenly I could lift my head again. He restored my smile, my joy, my heart, my life. He silenced the lies of my enemy and spoke to me of his great love! His love conquered death, sin and the enemy!

Jesus died on the cross and bore every sin, so that you and I wouldn't have to.

We often allow sin in our life which separates us from God, but there is hope for the hopeless! We don't hold the answer or the key, but Jesus does! Hope is found in his death and Resurrection, in Him there is life and joy, purpose and meaning! If you have lost hope in your circumstance, look to Him who has hope and you will find your hero to rescue you :)
