York City Adventures

Friday night House of Restoration was going to hold a small worship service in the city square but was cancelled due to the down pour, rain. My mom was already at my apartment so we pulled out a big umbrella and went for a walk in the City. It was amazing!

Although I love the rain, I was so thankful that Saturday was full of warmth and sunshine! I picked up some girls from the youth group to see a movie, but (not surprisingly) we were running a little behind and were going to miss the beginning of the movie, so we decided to go to a later time and check out the Art Fest in York instead. We were all so thankful that we did! We saw many local artistry that was just breathtaking! Met new people, and got a history lesson on the statue in downtown, Lafayette De Marquise. (The gold man, is real)

After walking around for a while, seeing many pictures, paintings, jewelry and city shops, we headed to the movie The Proposal. (Which we loved)

Sunday after church I spent some alone time with God at Farquhar Park. (one of my favorite places in the city) I sat on a bench reading and praying, looking over the city--beautiful, since it is the highest point in York. Here are pictures of my bandstand, where I dream of getting married someday!

When I finished reading my book I walked down to Kiwanis Lake and watched children feed the ducks and run around :)

Contrary to what people believe, City life is beautiful here in York!
