“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Have you ever felt that God didn’t know what he was doing in your life....as if somehow he was making a mistake? “Hey God, you got the wrong person, this isn’t what we negotiated regarding my life!!......hello...” You end up struggling in your own mind trying to figure out whether the problem is with you, the enemy, or God. We most often tend to think of ourselves last. “This must be an attack of the enemy, or God is testing my life.”
Recently I was yelling at God out of feelings of loneliness and despair; actually throwing out threats to God. “Fine, I’ll just go to the night club next to my apartment, I’m sure I’ll meet people there!” I became so frustrated I began saying all kind of crazy things!
A few days pasted and I was talking to a friend on the phone, who was sharing with me some of the drama going on in her hometown and with her other friends. When we hung up I began thinking....weighing the options. I remembered when I was in college, surrounded by people; it was such a blessing, but there were days I just wanted to run away, begin my own life—by myself! So on one hand, I wanted to be with people my age, with the same goals and pursuit. But on the other hand, here I was living life on my own...and feeling so alone.
You want to know what happened next, what my conclusion was? Truth is I began to cry a little in repentance to God. I knew as I weighed the options, that I would most definitely choose the life I have now, living on my own, with only God at my side!
I allowed myself to be suffocated by emotions, and lose focus of the race set before me. And God began to whisper, “For I know the plans I have for you Monica. Plans to prosper you and never to harm you, I plan to give you hope and an awesome future! Trust that I know what is best for you, and that I love you so much!”
Wow, do we serve an awesome God, or what! To trust Him, even when life is painful and unclear; to know that He has it all figured out. That the Creator of the heaven and earth cares about every detail of our lives!! Find your strength in Him! Be encouraged today, whatever your struggle is, whether loneliness, doubt, confusion..God has great plans in store for you, and He does know indeed what is best for You!
