July 4th

Food, sunshine, fireworks, four-wheelers, nature and family! This holiday I spent time with my family at our cabin. Friday after work my friend Christy, her baby, and I drove up north to Tioga county. There is just something about being away from the busyness of the city, having time out of the office, experiencing nature by listening to the birds, smelling camp fire, roasting marshmallows, and waking up to drink coffee outside on the deck with cool air wrapped around you! Every time I get the opportunity to go to our cabin, it seems the environment forces my focus back to God, the Creator, in such a refreshing way.
I am currently reading the book "I dared to call him Father" by Bilquis Sheikh. An autobiography about how Jesus changed a Muslim, Pakistani woman's life. This book has brought such a powerful reminder of how it is only by Holy Spirit that we are truly changed and transformed. She had no other teacher and guide beside Jesus Christ! Wow, we have such a loving and magnificent God; that He would reach into our lives, speak to us through dreams, and reveal himself in mighty ways, pouring out his unconditional love into our undeserving lives!

Thank Jesus this week for who He is, for the power of Holy Spirit working in our lives, and for the freedom of being an American! I hope you had a great holiday, and have an even greater week!
